Betty Joan Kennedy
Betty Joan Kennedy (nee Wigmore), a lover of life and music, died peacefully after a two year battle with cancer at the age of 82. She was known among family and friends for her many moves from houses to cottages to apartments, her final stop being the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home. Betty was born in 1935 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She moved to Charlottetown at an early age and would live there most of her life. Some of her happiest memories were the idyllic summer months spent at the family cottage on Darnley Beach. Betty was the loving Mother of Catherine (Kenneth MacNeill), Carol (Elwin) Corbett, Allan Kennedy and James (Pearl) Dunn. She was the grandmother of Kaitlyn, Cassidy and Kohen MacNeill, Keir (Robin Aitken) Lowther, and Great Grandchildren, Isla and Theo. She was predeceased by her daughter, Faye Dunn, her parents, Robert and Suzanna Wigmore, sister Shirley Graves and brothers Bob and Ken Wigmore. A short visitation will take place at Belvedere Funeral Home on Monday, November 5th from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. The visitation will be followed by a private family service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Marshfield Community Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the PEI Humane Society or Canadian Cancer Society PEI.
