Donna and Fred’s children: son, Jeremy Gottfried (Catherine), Toronto and their children, Peter Gottfried, George Henri and Eleanor Maria; daughters, Heidi Jean (Anthony) Page, London, Eng. and Kristen Maria (Matthew) Germann, Guelph, Ont. and their children William Harold and Leo Clayton; son, Michael Clayton, Vancouver. Pamela and Boyd’s children; son, Cameron Alexander (Tessa), Montreal, their son Galen Thomas; daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth, Halifax. Lorna and Peter’s son, Matthew Gordon (Kayla) Fort MacMurray; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie Jean (MacLean) on February 4, 2019 and by his brothers; Allison 1926-2013, Frank 1928-1991, Lorimer 1935-2005 and by his granddaughter Hannah Lynn Champion Nov. 1990 … April 1991. After 39 years in the workaday world as a Banker, Salesman and Public Servant with Transport Canada in Dartmouth, Saint John, Charlottetown and a return to Dartmouth; Don and Marj retired in 1987 to Kentville to follow other interests: house building of which there were a total of 6 and 2 renovations, family history and genealogy. He researched the Harris name back to 1714, the Wood name from 1642, and his in-laws names of MacLean back to 1758 and Tattrie (Tetterey) from 1722. His research also contained many stories of the ancestors. The resulting accounts provided each one of his family their ancestral background of whence their ancestors came. Don enjoyed painting. Some of his work sold in the Apple Bin Art Gallery in the Valley Regional Hospital where he volunteered as well as in the gift shop for 12 years. Other paintings are with family and friends as part of his legacy. Don also sang tenor with the Dukes of Kent Barbershop Chorus and played trombone with the New Horizons band at Acadia University for 7 years. Don, his wife and son returned to PEI in 2015 and renewed and enjoyed old friendships from earlier days.
